To better serve our ideal of unifying and healing through the arts,

Books Alive! is an

Artist in Residence with ARTreach.

ARTreach connects professional artists and their customized programs to those they serve: families and youth at risk, seniors, and individuals with special needs. They are able to serve over 11,000 in the Greater Houston area through theatre, dance, music, and visual art programs. The scope of their goals extend beyond just art education, as they strive to improve the overall mental and physical health of their participants. They are using the arts to change lives.

With our naturally complimentary missions, ARTreach seeks public and private funding to provide for subsidized Books Alive! performances for at-risk communities including:

Texas Children’s Hospital, MD Anderson’s Children’s Cancer Center, YMCA after school and summer programs, Brookwood and ARC special needs adult Communities, local Title One schools and local and rural library systems. Additionally, Books Alive! tours to elementary and pre-k schools in the independent school districts of Katy, Houston, Cypress, Lamar Consolidated and Fort Bend.

All Individual/Corporate Donations made for Books Alive! through ARTreach, a 501(c)3 charitable company, are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
